Overview:
Steadberry were appointed by a major American Bank on a design and Build basis to refurbish the façade of the prestigious Grade 1 listed Newgate Building in St Pauls. The building is 4 stories high with over 100 lineal meters of façade elevations.
The project consisted principally of scaffolding access, nebular spray cleaning with elaborate water control, timber repairs to the windows, redecoration of all previously decorated areas and stone repairs to a high specification.
The façade and envelope to the building consists of multiple finishes including limestone, redbrick, timber and decorative cast iron and rainwater goods. The high specification refurbishment was finished 10% ahead of an already tight programme.
In addition the core scope the project required working over the public and liaison with the ground floor shop managers to minimise business impact and prevent loss of trade.
The scheme also involved the extensive co-ordination of a number of client vendors to ensure the smooth operation and execution of works.
